Our workforce development work stream brings together a wide group of stakeholders for outcome-oriented discussion on opportunities to strengthen and harmonise educational and professional development programs for public health workers with responsibilities for preventing, detecting and responding to infectious disease threats.

In partnership with the Task Force for Global Health and its global partners, the Alliance has supported the development of the Global Field Epidemiology Roadmap; a far-reaching, seven-step action framework to modernize, strengthen, and expand global Field Epidemiology Training Programs (FETPs). A meeting of key leaders and stakeholders in field epidemiology capacity development was held at the World Health Organization (WHO) headquarters in Geneva on February 13-15, 2019, to develop an implementation plan for the Global Field Epidemiology Roadmap.
